I dedicate this book to Roy Tietz; Beth Haggerty, MSW; Norm Duke, PBA Hall of Fame; John V Cook, Joey Burke, Scott Washburn, Mike Land, Steve Dekker, Dwight Burns, Dewey Yoho, Colin Gilyeat; Bobby Saavedra, PGA; Laura Beahring, PGA, Bruce Clayton, Joe Fioreni, and Donovan Hemway.
Roy of Rev Roy’s Pro Shop has drilled my last five bowling balls where I have shot five perfect games with a 797 at age sixty-four. He also has given advice while winning titles. His knowledge of equipment and drilling layouts is one reason I was able to make the roll-offs in both my leagues this past season. (Check out his dictionary entry.)
Beth is a mental-game coach who got my head in the right frame of mind twenty years ago and realized magic was about to happen. Thanks for making me a mental monster and getting to the zone. (Check out her Testimonial & dictionary entry.)
Norm is a PBA Hall of Fame member who has
helped me on the lanes during clinics and camp. His knowledge helped me win the Tucson Metro USBC Senior Masters. Congrats Norm on your fortieth PBA title at age fifty-five. You inspiration to kids shows that you can improve and compete at any age. (See photo below.) (Check out his dictionary entry.
Check out The Pro bowler in the Competitor’s guide.)
John, Joey, Scott, Mike, Steve, Dwight, and Dewey are all great bowlers. Six are hall of famers, with Joey being a famer-to-be. I enjoyed competing against them as well as with them as teammates. John, Joey, and Dewey have been both a thorn in my side and an invaluable team member. The three of you helped make me a better competitor.(See photo below for John.) (Check out John, Scott and Mike’s Testimonial. Check out Scott's praise for this website. Check out their dictionary entries. Check out John as The Gambler, Joey as The House mouse, Scott as The Zoner, Mike as The Thinker, Steve as The Visionary, Dwight as The Shot maker and Dewey as The Hustler in the Competitor’s guide.)
Colin, who has been the bowling team captain for over ten years of nationals, helped make it real, and we bowled together in several side tournaments. This shows you can teach an old dog new tricks. (Check out friend in my dictionary.)
Bobby at Fred Enke GC and Laura at Sewailo GC are PGA members who taught proper swing, strategies, and the short game, to where golf is fun and helped me win the FIG club championship. (Check out Laura’s Testimonial. Check out their dictionary entries.
Check out The Coach in the Competitor’s guide.)
Bruce is coordinator of the Southern AZ Men’s Golf Club and helped us win the two-man events several times. It only took a few drinks for him to win the Club Championship ☺. (Check friend in my dictionary.)
Joe, Donovan, and all my co-workers knew bowling was a way a life for me, and I bought them donuts when I made the finals. Another thank you to all my teammates and their families who love bowling as much as I do. (Check friend in my dictionary.)
All sixteen of you have encouraged me when I was shooting 300 games and 750 series. All of you have made it fun, which is the reason to show up week after week. Thanks again.

During the lock down, what else would I listen to? He plays that pheel good 60's on 6 music on Sirius XM. It's great they have an app.
(See Phlash below and photo right below.)
At least she saw me roll a 300 and finish with 803 to average 244 for the 18 games I bowled over the weekend.
(See my mom below.)
Phor all who don't know, Phlash is my travel advisor and has places of interest. He has traveled to all 50 states, I'm 19 behind him.
(See Phlash below and photo right above.)
The inspirations have come from my mom, who passed away over three years ago, and Len Nicholson, PBA.
My mom taught me to never quit no matter what, and that helped me become a champion in bowling, golf, and putting. She also made sports fun while growing up, and that’s the reason for my many accomplishments. It’s the attitude that I try to rub off on my teammates ☺. Shortly after watching me win the Senior Masters and shoot a 300, she passed away and is definitely missed. (See photo above.) (Check out her dictionary entry.)
NEWS FLASH: May 2020, Len was just awarded the Luby Award. It's his induction into the International Bowling Media Association Hall of Fame. Congratulations Len. All the work writing articles and books finally paid off.
Len, a PBA and now an IBMA Hall of Famer, for doing the lane maintenance and for telling the world about the best bowlers in the world in his books and articles. He made me a better bowler when he oiled the lanes at Golden Pin Lanes for the short time he was in Tucson. He always was telling stories and doing card tricks, with some being unbelievable. He also does a great job with his bowling podcast for the last 17 years. The phantom strikes again!! (Check out his Testimonial & dictionary entry. Check out his Tucson Tribute & Honor entry. Check out The Storyteller in the Competitor’s guide.)
The final thank you's are for my senior moments and go to Dr. Watson, Phlash Phelps, and Gaslight Theater.
Dr. Steve of Chiropractic USA in Oro Valley, AZ. haskept me battle ready since I retired. As the years go by, with past injuries and arthritis recurring from time to time, his adjustments give me more good days
than bad. Tell him I sent you. He has an article on Jordan Spieth going to chiropractors to keep him in shape for his golf game. (Check out his Testimonial & DC entry in my dictionary.)
Phlash keeps me young with sixties music while traveling to and phrom nationals every year. His Phlash Phelps phunny pharm radio show on Sirius XM on weekday mornings, 60’s on 6, dephinitely makes the journey a lot more enjoyable, and he wishes me luck when I’m able to talk to him. His places of interest have put me on the side roads
to see them ☺. Keep up the great job you do, Phlash. Note: I had to show the phlash code as that was a good story. It's great to have the Sirius XM app when I was going to the gym before the shutdown phrom coronavirus. Wake up Plash, you have a radio show to do. I hope I can now join the phan clan. I even linked my button to it so others can see why it's worth subscribing to. (By the way for you that don't have XM, the Phlash code is using ph instead of the phreaking sixth letter oph the alphabet.) (See two photos above.) (Check out Phlash on the Events page and dictionary entry. Also check him and his accomplices out under DJ in my dictionary, Confidence 101 Class 3 & site map. Check out The DJ in the Competitor’s guide.) Nobody probably believes he would appear this many times in my website. This shows that all stories on places he visits and playing that Pheel good music, has had an impact on me while I’m traveling. And now, it’s a win-win with the app so I can listen on my phone. It’s more than cool, it’s awesome!! Keep up the great job you do and hopefully, I’ll get a phan clan number soon.
Check out the Links to start your day, Also check out the Bowling dictionary phor DJ and Phlash. He's also a character, The DJ appears in my Competitor's guide. Phlash is also on the site map with all the pages he's on. (See photo below.)
NOTE to Phlash: Thanks for playing my Pheel good story. With the lock down and very phew places to go, the app made it a little bit better. Of course I could say what else are we going to listen to? Happy Phriday and stay safe.
I also included Gaslight Theater. All the great melodrama shows they do make me feel young again, and at a reasonable price for seniors. Over forty years of making Tucson laugh. Even the kids have a great time. The cast and band makes for a most enjoyable evening. Don’t forget about the Monday tribute concerts that are also awesome.
And now they have a music hall in Oro Valley. NOTE: I hope the shutdown doesn't shut down Gaslight Theater.
What a good time years ago. Going to the border and coming home with hardware. The Miller trophy. (See John Cook.)
I went to Vegas in 2019 to inform a great bowler he was going to be in my book. Well he at least made the finals. (See Norm Duke.)
Still have 19 states to phinish all phiphty. Thanks phor all the places oph interest to visit on my travels. (See Plash Phelps.)
