I am a two-sport amateur champion who has achieved perfection in both sports, because along with having fun, I have committed to excellence. Almost no amateur has addressed the mental game to help kids and athletes starting out in sports. I want to help anyone reach a level they might not have thought was not possible. Being at a higher level has a few more responsibilities, but also makes it more fun when you see better results happen and cash more often in tournaments. HOW TO see better results than I had early in my bowling career. I struggled early because they were no mental game books at the bookstores. I want to help you go after goals you never thought were possible. I want you to have more fun when you compete! I still have some success as league champion many times over, cashing in national and city tournaments, winning money in pot games and winning a Challenge tournament. Once mental books were in the stores, I was able to show others, that the mental game was the only way to compete for prize funds.

When they rewarded me with this award in May 1999, I had articles on it that have been revised and are now updated!
Few will quit after a major championship got away. If you really love your sport, you keep trying. I had equipment failure two straight years. I changed out my equipment to win following year!
What could be better after a championship in one sport? How about winning the championship hardware in another sport to keep the other hardware company on the selve that shows your awards.
The awards you win define who you are. Still having the awards 50 years later shows how dedicated you are to your sport and that any award shows you put in the work so you could collect memories.
When are you going to start to have fun when competing. Having fun doing something you love is a great way to eliminate stress and pressure. Add positive attitude to be ready for anything!

(My site has just gone through a few changes and changing the visual appearence for all pages. New articles and info for my website are announced above and on my site map. I have already corrected many typos and formatted some pages that needed it. Using the software I'm forced to use, isn't easy and it is time consuming. But I finally got my website looking more like it was professionally done. Even working on the site this time as taken weeks. My "HOW TO" sports mental game website for information only.
"I'm glad you made it to my site. This is one of the biggest websites about the mental game in sports and bowling. When you've bowled for over 60 years, you have experienced almost everything imaginable. It is when you compete having fun, that more positive results should be the new normal.
This site is from a two-sport amateur athlete and not a PhD. Since I retired, I wanted to give back to the sport I love and help others to have more fun while participating and also give them knowledge so their goals are within reach. Understand that I won't get rich off my book sales, and that I want to see athletes have more fun instead of being frustrated. I can't guarantee that any athlete will be world class, but most athletes should learn something from both of my books and what's included in my website. Athletes just starting sports after reading my book, should learn how to reduce pressure in must have moments to see more positive outcomes.
Just because your mental game should help you see your goals within reach, doesn't mean that your physical game should be ignored. The physical and mental aspects of sports are interconnected, and both should be practiced at least monthly. Being at a "healthy" weight could also be a factor as a competitor. Practicing your physical game is required to repeat great shots. As in most sports, your legs help your balance and endurance, so don't think you can neglect your physical game while working just on your mental game. You need both games to create memorable moments!
