The mental game is by far the easiest way to GREATLY improve your game and start seeing more positive results! Earl Anthony had a GREAT mental game by what Len Nicholson wrote in his books. Earl won more titles because of having a GREAT mental game where very few knew this about him. Experience is a huge part of makes your mental game GREAT!
It's not rocket science! It's about getting athletes help to have more fun when
competing and shooting for the starts!
First step in getting help to realize that what you're doing now has only got
you so far.
Your second step is to take action and do something to help you see more
positve results, so your goals are more reachable.
Your third step is to admit your mistakes. They unfortunately happen and
shouldn't be repeated.
And the all mighty final step is to take advantage of all situations when they
appear. A missed oportunity may have been the only door open that
you didn't walk through.
Don't continue down that could have path, when you came to that fork in the road. You could have done things differntly will always come up. Your should have path might have been a little longer, but you would have seen better results! With experience, what should have happened, may be what is happening!
See you in the Zone!
GREAT info & helpful tips make my HOW TO Book a GREAT starting point to improve!
LEN NICHOLSON, P.B.A. HALL OF FAME
“I have known Alan since 1980 when I lived in Tucson, Arizona. I started bowling in 1956 and have read countless bowling books. This book is special and belongs in every bowler’s library.
I had known that Alan was a good bowler, but never knew that he possessed the knowledge that he put forth in this book. It is a very thorough collection of bowling-related information that any (and all) bowlers that want to improve should read. I highly recommend it.” —Len Nicholson, PBA Hall of Fame, 2011 & International Bowling Media Association Hall of Fame, 2020 (Author of eight books, including the Final Phase, a four-book series, with The Mental Game being book three.) SCOTT WASHBURN, TUCSON METRO HALL OF FAME, U OF A COACH
“Caution: If you are satisfied with your average – you don’t need this book! Bowling is easy – excelling at bowling is hard, but much more fun.
While some factors leading to improvement, such as practice, seem obvious other crucial factors are more obscure but even more important. Alan has developed a roadmap where at each stop you improve one obvious, or less recognized, skill on the way to ‘the zone’. While on your 31-day road trip, Alan – riding shotgun, entertains you with his own personal experiences. While his approach is friendly and lighthearted the results can be serious and rewarding.
No matter where you are now, by following Alan’s simple and systematic approach you will get even better – all while enjoying the journey.” -Scott Washburn, Tucson Metro USBC Hall of Fame 2012, Past University of Arizona Bowling Team Coach, USBC Arizona amateur Champion, Tucson Metro USBC Master’s Champion and Tucson Metro USBC Senior Master’s Champion.

JOHN COOK, TUCSON METRO AND AZ. STATE HALL OF FAME
“This is a must-read book for anyone who is interested in the game of bowling. While short, but very informative, this book is for the beginner as well as the advanced player, because of its main premise, often overlooked today, which is to have fun. People seem to forget that this is a game.
With any game you play, you must have fun, otherwise why do it? As you read, Alan covers many informative tips to help improve your game while keeping with the main point of having fun! What a delightful read.” –John V. Cook, Tucson Metro USBC Hall of Fame 1991, Arizona State USBC Hall of Fame 1992

MIKE LAND, TUCSON METRO HALL OF FAME
“Alan Brizee has written a very thought provoking book, laying out a detailed 31 day plan to improve on the mental side of sports performance, mainly geared toward bowling and golf. His instructions about how to get in the "mental zone" now explains to me why he has always been a fierce competitor in bowling matches, especially succeeding in pressure situations.
Also, recently taking up golf myself and finding out how difficult a game it is, Alan's systematic approach, determination and practice routines noted in the book answers why he has achieved such success in golf over a relatively short period of time.
Anyone hoping to take their sport of choice to the next level would benefit from reading, "The Path to Excellence".” —Mike Land, Tucson USBC Hall of Fame 1998.

Beth was able to show me why the mental game would help me reach my potential!
My mom taught me to never quit no matter what. This was even before I started to bowl. It's really incredible how much I learned from her and retained over the years. Her wisdom has helped me become a champion in bowling, golf, and putting. She also made participating in sports more fun for me while growing up, by not putting extra pressure on me when compiting. She is a big reason for my many accomplishments. Her never quit, have fun and stay positive attitude is something that I try to rub off on my teammates ☺. All this helped my long career in bowling. My Mom was finally able to see me bowl a 300 game and finish with an 803, to average 244 for the 18 games When I won the 2014 Tucson Metro USBC Senior Masters. About a year after winning the Senior Masters, she passed away and will definitely be missed. (Check out her dictionary entry.)
Len Nicholson, a PBA and now an IBMA Hall of Famer, for doing the lane maintenance and for telling the world about the best bowlers in the world in his books and articles. He made me a better bowler when he oiled the lanes at Golden Pin Lanes for the short time he was in Tucson. He always was telling stories and doing card tricks, with some being unbelievable. He also does a great job with his bowling podcast for the last 17 years. The phantom strikes again!! (Check out his Testimonial & dictionary entry. NEWS FLASH: May 2020, Len was just awarded the Luby Award. It's his induction into the International Bowling Media Association Hall of Fame. Congratulations Len. All the hard work writing articles and books finally paid off. Check out his Tucson Tribute & Honor entry and The Storyteller in the Competitor’s guide.)
Dr. Steve of Chiropractic USA in Oro Valley, AZ. has kept me battle ready since I retired. As the years go by, with past injuries and arthritis recurring from time to time, his adjustments give me more good days than bad. Please tell him I sent you. He has an article on Jordan Spieth going to chiropractors to keep him in shape for his golf game. (Check out his Testimonial & DC entry in my dictionary.)
I also included Gaslight Theater. All the great melodrama shows they do that will make me feel young again, and at a reasonable price for us seniors. Over forty years of making Tucson laugh. Even the kids have a great time. The cast and band will make it a most enjoyable evening. Don’t forget about the Monday tribute concerts that are also awesome. And now they have a music hall in Oro Valley.
I dedicated my first HOW TO book to Roy Tietz, Rev. Roy's Pro Shop; Beth Haggerty, MSW; Norm Duke, PBA Hall of Fame; John V Cook,
Joey Burke, Scott Washburn, Mike Land, Steve Dekker, Dwight Burns, Dewey Yoho, Colin Gilyeat; Bobby Saavedra, PGA; Laura Beahring, PGA,
Bruce Clayton and finally my fellow co-workers Joe Fioreni with Donovan Hemway.
Many thanks go out to you 16, for how you helped me acquire my GREAT mental game!
Roy Tietz of Rev Roy’s Pro Shop has drilled my last five bowling balls where I have shot five perfect games with a 797 being a super senior. He also has given me advice while winning titles. His knowledge of equipment and drilling layouts is one reason why I'm able to continue to do great things. (Check out his dictionary entry.)
Beth Haggerty is now a retired mental game coach who got my head in the right frame of mind over twenty years ago. She realized magic was about to happen and a few weeks later, I shot my first 800 series. Thanks for showing me the road to the Zone and why I should compete there. (Check out her Testimonial & dictionary entry.)
Norm Duke is a PBA Hall of Fame member who has helped me on the lanes during clinics and camp. His knowledge helped me win the 2014 Tucson Metro USBC Senior Masters. Congrats Norm on your 40th PBA title at age fifty-five. You inspiration to kids shows that you can compete at any age. (Check out his dictionary entry and The Pro bowler in the Competitor’s guide.)
John, Joey, Scott, Mike, Steve, Dwight, and Dewey are all great bowlers. Six are hall of famers, with Joey being a famer-to-be. I enjoyed competing against them as well as with them as teammates. John, Joey, and Dewey have been both a thorn in my side and an invaluable team member. The three of you helped make me a better competitor. (Check out John, Scott and Mike’s Testimonial. Colin, who has been the Nationals bowling team captain for over ten years, helped make it real as we bowled in several side tournaments.
Bobby at Fred Enke GC and Laura at Sewailo GC are PGA members who taught proper swing, strategies, and the short game, to where golf is more fun and helped me win the FIG club championship twice. (Check out Laura’s Testimonial. Check out their dictionary entries and The Coach in the Competitor’s guide.)
Bruce is coordinator of the Southern AZ Men’s Golf Club and helped us win the two-man events several times. It took a few drinks for him to win the Club Championship ☺.
Joe and Donovan, and all my co-workers knew bowling was a way a life for me, and I bought them donuts when I cashed in tournaments.
All sixteen of you have encouraged me when I was shooting 300 games and 750 series. All of you have made it more fun, which is the real reason to show up week after week. Some of you competed against me, some taught me a few things, some made life worth living and I'm grateful to have known you all.
Thanks again to all my teammates and their families who love bowling as much as I do.
